The Voer Region takes you far away from the crowds. The gently undulating landscape captivates with its fields, deciduous woodland, hedges and grassland. Many endangered species feel at home here. With luck, you'll spot a wild boar, fox, badger, roe deer, ermine, skunk, weasel, ... Rare plants are also rampant here.
This region is like one great monument park, filled with architectural gems and historical heritage. Castles, farmsteads, little chapels and churches, and half-timbered houses give extra atmosphere. A wonderful setting for beautiful walks and cycling.
The Voer Region counts 4,300 inhabitants, distributed over six typical church villages. 's-Gravenvoeren, Sint-Martens-Voeren, Sint-Pieters-Voeren, Moelingen, Teuven, and Remersdaal all offer plenty of charm. Here you can taste local specialties such as trout, Voer drupke (a liqueur) and Voer tripe.
The Voer Region is a Flemish oasis in Wallonia, east of the Meuse river and close to the Dutch border. In the heart of the Euroregion, it is the ideal base from which to visit great cultural cities like Maastricht, Aachen, Liège and Tongeren.
